Understanding the full climate impact of our business and working to reduce it, is one of the most important things we can do to safeguard the planet for future generations. How businesses act can have a real impact for good or ill and we want to make sure that we are doing our bit to be a responsible community business. The BREEAM excellent status of our purpose-built workspace is just one contribution, our desire to help other local businesses reduce their carbon footprint, another. We are also B Corp accredited which is an important milestone on our journey to net zero.

Carbon neutral NOW – What does this mean?
We have a science-based carbon reduction programme in place which measures our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and is independently assessed each year. Our aim is to reach net zero by 2030. Until we reach this target, we use gold standard offsetting to balance our emissions against what we have not yet been able to reduce. This means that we are carbon neutral NOW. This is our overall target for all to see
To achieve net zero by 2030 by reducing our emissions by at least 90% and offsetting the remainder.
To drive towards this target, we aim to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain.
Over the next year we will:
- Run an engagement project to encourage our suppliers to calculate their own carbon footprint
- Run a tenant engagement project targeting energy savings and waste reduction in the office
- Investigate alternatives to our Air-to-water Gas Fired Absorption Heat Pumps
- Analyse telecoms and internet usage
